What Makes a Microschool Like Montezuny Special

Montezuny is a microschool — a small, personalized learning community led by a certified teacher. With fewer students, every child receives close attention, individualized lessons, and the freedom to grow at their own pace. Unlike traditional schools, Montezuny combines the Montessori approach with developmental best practices and conscious education, creating an environment where children feel seen, respected, and inspired to learn.

Montezuny operates in compliance with the legal requirements of Florida Statute 1002.43 F.S., ensuring that families receive an education option that is both nurturing and fully aligned with state regulations.

Helping every child reach their full potential

At Montezuny, learning happens with heart. Our bilingual environment nurtures not only the mind but also the body and spirit, helping each child grow into their fullest self. We believe that true education goes beyond academics — it’s about awakening curiosity, cultivating emotional intelligence, and guiding children to discover who they truly are.

Holistic Approach

We go beyond traditional Montessori by blending Montessori principles with developmental psychology and conscious education. This holistic approach nurtures every aspect of a child — intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual — helping them grow as whole human beings.

Prepared Environment

Every space at Montezuny is designed with purpose, order, and beauty. Children explore freely in a calm and structured atmosphere filled with materials that encourage independence, curiosity, and self-correction — all guided gently by their teacher.

Individual Development

We respect each child’s unique rhythm and stage of growth. Lessons are personalized not by age but by developmental readiness, allowing every student to progress confidently at their own pace — in both English and Spanish.

Human Values & Connection

At Montezuny, learning is rooted in love, respect, and authenticity. We help children build meaningful connections with themselves, others, and the world — cultivating empathy, mindfulness, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Your Questions, Answered

What ages do you accept at Montezuny?

Montezuny serves children from ages 3 to 12 in a mixed-age learning environment. In this setting, children of different ages learn together in a small, supportive community. Younger students benefit from observing and learning from the older ones, gaining inspiration and confidence as they grow. At the same time, older students naturally develop leadership, empathy, and responsibility by guiding and supporting the younger children. This dynamic creates a collaborative atmosphere where learning happens not only through lessons, but also through everyday interactions, cooperation, and shared experiences.

How many students are in each group?

We intentionally keep our groups very small, with a maximum of 10 children. This allows us to provide individualized attention, understand each child’s needs, and create a calm and focused learning environment.

Is the school bilingual?

Yes. Montezuny is a bilingual learning environment (English–Spanish). Children are naturally exposed to both languages in daily activities, which supports language development while maintaining a natural and engaging learning experience.

Can the Step Up for Students scholarship cover tuition?

Yes. Montezuny accepts the Step Up for Students scholarship, which may cover the full cost of tuition for eligible families. We also provide guidance to help parents understand and apply for the program.

Is Montezuny a Montessori school?

Montezuny is inspired by Montessori principles, but it also integrates Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) and a conscious education approach. Rather than following a single method rigidly, we bring together the most meaningful ideas from different educational philosophies to support the whole child. This combination creates a more holistic learning experience that nurtures not only academic development, but also emotional awareness, independence, curiosity, and a strong sense of connection with others and the environment.

How can we enroll our child?

The first step is always a school visit. We invite families to visit Montezuny, experience the environment, and meet us in person. After the visit, if both sides feel it is a good fit, we will guide you through the enrollment process.
